ah da:
1. Drive the car a little to warm up the oil. Park it with a pair of 2x4s under the front wheels.
2. Pop the hood and remove the oil cap.
3. Position your catch pan under the oil plug.
4. Remove the oil drain plug, from the driver's side of the oil pan. Clean any metallic shavings off the end of the plug.
5. Let it drain until it slows to a trickle.
6. Slide the catch pan back so it is under both the trickle and the oil filter.
7. Pop a hole in the front face of the filter, where it will drain into the catch pan. A Phillips head and hammer makes quick work of this.
8. When it slows to a trickle, loosen the filter a bit, it will drain some more from the top. When its done remove completely and place filter upside down in catch pan to drain.
9. Once the trickle has pretty much stopped, replace the drain plug and tighten just a bit with a wrench.
10. Wipe a coating of new oil around the seal on the new filter.
11. Fill new filter with new oil
12. Install new filter, don't cross thread.
13. Tighten hand tight, tighten a little with a wrench if you want, not too much.
14. Add 5.5 quarts of oil (2001) to the oil fill.
15. Replace cap.
17. Start the car, make sure the oil pressure comes up, let it run 15-30 secs.
18. Check level via dipstick and top off if necessary. Check level every 1000 miles.
